Juice fasting is the king of detox methods, as juice fasting is the easiest and safest methods of detox. Juice fasting nourishes your body, especially with live enzymes which ‘jump start' a sluggish immune system and provides nourishment for sustaining the fast for long periods of time.

What is juice fasting ?

To do juice fasting, you must avoid solid food and all food that create acid in your body. Consume only raw vegetables or fresh fruit juice in certain portion during the whole day.

Proponents of juice fasting use juice because it's thought to be a good source of vitamins and antioxidants.

 

Is Juice Fasting Safe For Everyone ?

Basically, juice fasting is safe for everyone, however for you who have certain health conditions, please make sure you are under strict medical supervision before doing juice fasting. Especially for you who fit these conditions…

  • Pregnant or nursing women or children.

  • People with diabetes, low blood sugar, eating disorders, kidney disease, liver disease, malnutrition, addictions, underweight, anemia, impaired immune function, infection, nutritional deficiency, low blood pressure, ulcerative colitis, cancer, terminal illness, epilepsy, or other chronic conditions.

  • People who are in pre or post surgical procedures.

  • People taking prescription medications.


When And How Long Should We Have Juice Fasting ?

Juice fasting is suggested only during the warmer months of the year. Spring is thought to be the best time of the year for juice fasting.

A juice fasting typically lasts for one to three days. A longer juice fasting requires medical supervision and possibly monitoring to ensure that nutrient deficiencies don't result.

Seven or more days before the fast, reduce or eliminate alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, sugar, dairy, wheat, animal meat, fish, and eggs from the diet. This preparation diet often consists mainly of organic fruits, vegetables, and beans.



 

Between 32 and 64 ounces of juice is usually recommended per day during the fast. The juice can be sipped throughout the day. Typical fruits and vegetables used in juice fasting include celery, carrot, kale, cabbage, apple, pineapple, cranberry, spinach, beet, and greens. Citrus fruits are often avoided.



What Fruits And Vegetables Are Recommended For Juice Fasting ?

  • Freshly juiced fruits and vegetables are preferred, but if unavailable, just buy it from the health food store or juice bar as fresh as possible.

  • Besides drinking juice the whole day, include one meal eating during the day.

  • Certain fruits and vegetables and their parts should not be juiced, such as the pits of peaches, apricots, cherries, and other fruits, apple seeds, citrus peels, carrot and rhubarb tops, tough skins (such as kiwi, pineapple, mangoes), and bananas and avocados.

  • Organic fruits and vegetables are usually recommended. If organic product isn't available, you can peel the skin off fruits and vegetables or just wash vegetables with a non-toxic produce cleaner.

  • Green vegetables and sprouts contain the pigment chlorophyll are believed to be beneficial during juice fasting.
