Vegetable Detox

 

We already know about vitamins and minerals contained in vegetables. Along with flavonoid and phytochemicals, fresh vegetables also have the therapeutic benefits for human body. Put vegetable detox in your daily routines to remove toxins from your body.

Here are several vegetables that you can use for your vegetable detox,


 

 

Carrot

Trust this vegetable as one of your detox agent. Carrot is also rich in nutrition and can stimulate your body as well. And don’t forget its beta-carotene, which can minimize the risk of cancer.

Spinach

Rich in antioxidant, spinach becomes a perfect choice for your vegetable detox. Besides that, you will also have the health benefits from beta-carotene, vitamin C, calcium, and iron from spinach.

Onion and garlic

The nutrition contained in these vegetables has the power of antivirus and anti-bacterial. Using onion and garlic in your vegetable detox will help flushing your body system, fighting cancer, and reducing cholesterol. Garlic is also useful for increasing human immune system and anti-inflammatory.



 

Beet

Beet is another good vegetable detox agent. One of its benefits is cleaning liver. Beet can also be used as laxative agent. The high beta-carotene, calcium and iron contents add the reasons why you should put beet into your vegetable detox menu.


How to prepare vegetable detox

You can, of course, just add raw vegetable detox in your fresh salad. However there is a better way to have vegetable detox in delicious meals. Just prepare vegetables stock, and use it for soup and additional stock for other menu.

This is only an example of a vegetable stock,
 

Ingredients:

1 potato

1 carrot

1 celery

1 thyme

1 indian bay leaves

peterselies

2 garlic

15 ml sunflower oil

600 ml water

black pepper

Direction:

Clean all vegetables, and cut into small pieces.

Heat the sunflower oil in a big pot.

Add potato, carrot and celery

Cook in the closed pot for 10 minutes to soft them.

Add thyme, garlic, peterselies and indian bay leaves, and stir.

Pour the water into the pot and cook until boiled.

Reduce the fire and boil for 40 minutes in half-opened pot.

Sieve to get the vegetable stock, and add black pepper for a better taste

You can add this vegetable stock into your soup or other dishes. To prepare the vegetable stock for couple of days, you can make it for more portion, and put it in refrigerator for max. 4 days.
