Water Fasting
Water fasting is a stringent and effective way to detoxify your body, as it forces the metabolism of body fat. And thereby, releases stored toxins in the body fat into the blood stream for elimination, as the fat oils are used for fuel.
Why Should We Choose Water Fasting ?
Water is the purest and most life-giving substance on earth, although totally tasteless and odorless. That makes water fasting the toughest of all types of fasting for detox.
By having water fasting, no energy is spent on digestion, other than to heat any cold water to reach homeostasis of a uniform body temperature. Less energy is expended on digestion of foods, resulting in more energy for the rest of the body to expel toxins as well as to recover and heal itself from the stresses digestion places upon it.
Who Can Do Water Fasting ?
Only a very healthy person that should go on short water fasting, as the toxins released could overwhelm toxic and sick bodies. Metabolism will also be slowing down during an extended water fasting, and therefore physical/mental activity should be minimized for safety reasons.
What To Do When We Feel Hungry During Water Fasting ?
The hunger is usually experienced during the first three days of a water fasting. That hunger are actually "gastric irritation" and not "true hunger."
Every time you feel hunger, bombard your body with another glass of water. Carry around your bottle of water wherever you go and make it a goal to drink at the very least one of those a day when you are not fasting, and two a day when you are fasting.
Not yet ready to take water fasting ? Consume only water for the whole day ? Maybe Lemon juice and honey fasting can be your alternative to start your detox program.
